September Concert @ Sunrise, McLean

September 26, 2026

On a rainy day in the beginning of autumn, McLean Melody hosted its monthly concert at our local senior home, Sunrise. The windows were splattered with rain drops, the interior lighting was warm, and the whole ambience of the performance felt cozy and relaxing. We had a packed concert program with a variety of instruments and pieces, ranging from violin and cello to piano and from Baroque pieces to modern ones. The program consisted entirely of solos, which made each piece feel special.

The first half of the performance included both strings and piano, with Daksh opening the program by playing an excerpt from Symphony No.3 by Brahms. Next, we had Remi on the cello, who is one of our youngest members, only 7 years old and already sharing her beautiful playing with the audience. Later, Nathan, Oliver and Amy performed several different Baroque and Classical pieces on the piano, adding fresh melodies to the musical atmosphere. In the second half, Alex, Serena and Emily performed several energetic and lyrical pieces on their stringed instruments. Serena performed Tarantella on the cello, a lively, bright piece that sounded just like a spider’s dance. Finally, to close out the show, April and Ethan played a Beethoven Sonata and Bach Fugue, respectively, that wrapped up the program nicely.

This performance, like the others, would not be possible without the help and contribution of every member. Thank you to those who participated! We’ll see you at our next concert!
