This weekend was Valentine’s Day, and to celebrate, we planned several fun, Valentine’s Day–themed activities for this week’s McLean Melody performance. After all the performers had finished playing, we organized a festive game for the seniors. We handed out maracas and invited everyone to shake them along to the beat of a cheerful Valentine’s Day song. We had a lot of fun listening to different Valentine’s Day music!
After the game, we handed out roses to the seniors and the staff. Each person received two roses, one red and one pink, which had been prepared ahead of time for the residents and workers at BrightView Senior Living, where we performed. These roses were donated by AI4abilities, another non-profit organization. We appreciate their help and generosity for helping to set up this event. It was a small gesture, but it meant a lot to see how much they appreciated it.
Overall, we had a wonderful time celebrating, playing music, and participating in Valentine’s Day games!
