At this concert I played You Are The Reason. A duet involving a cello and piano. I was the cello in this piece and Eileen was the piano. This piece was medium speed but very melodic. You Are The Reason was originally a song with lyrics in it, but then the Brooklyn Duo turned it into a cello and piano piece. This song wasn’t really hard to practice but some parts were more challenging than others. On one part of this piece, I had to go into high thumb position, which I have rarely done before. But after much practice, I managed to be able to do it without much trouble.
Overall, this piece chosen by my dad was average in difficulty, but still sounded very good. I was happy to be able to play such a wonderful piece for these senior citizens from Sunrise.
