This was our first time holding a concert at Brightview Senior Living Center in Fair Oaks, and I think I speak for everyone when I say that it was definitely a big success. We had a very full program featuring duets, trios, and solos, with many performers playing multiple pieces. The warm lighting and subtle decor contributed to an inviting atmosphere, and we had a great audience that seemed to really enjoy our performance.

This concert wouldn’t be made possible without our dedicated and skilled members of Mclean Melody. One of our two duets performed was by Alice and Claire, who played Morning Has Broken, a calming and serene piece that had notes of peace and happiness. Our second duet was played by Claire and Jacob on the flute and cello. The two instruments combined created a beautiful contrast of the bass and higher octaves. Their skilled performance of Traumerei by R. Schumann and a Sonata by Vivaldi made clear that they had practiced this a lot. The music they shared was romantic and bright, and their performance brought delight to everyone. Finally, our last ensemble performed was a trio by Claire, Jacob, and Eileen, who played Always With Me by Hiasashi, one that has been polished and perfected by numerous performances. It’s at once wistful and lyrical, with intricately woven notes that the three different instruments created.
At the end of the concert, we gave out origami hearts and flowers and thank you cards to all of the seniors present as a message of gratitude for taking the time to attend our concert. They loved it and we will be happy to visit again in the future to perform! Thank you to all for helping with this concert!
